How to get to La Cité de la Mer

By road : 1h15 hours from Caen, 2h30 hours from Rouen, Rennes or Le Havre and 3h30 hours from Paris.

N13 road, or along the western coast road or through le Val de Saire. Once in Cherbourg follow signs to “Car Ferries / La Cité de la Mer”
Free car park.

By train:

Paris St-Lazare / Caen / Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, Corail Intercités trains.
The Centre is a 15-minute walk from the station.

Where to eat

Our restaurants, right in the heart of the centre, are open for you every day. You won’t even have to leave to go and have lunch in a restaurant in town – we have everything you need on the spot.

“Le Quai des Mers” Restaurant

À la carte or a set meal, you can have a seafood platter for your lunch: Normandy oysters, whelks, shrimps and prawns, not forgetting crab, unless you prefer a salad platter with bread.

“Le Ruban Bleu” Snack Bar

If you just want a snack or a drink, go to the 115-seater “Le Ruban Bleu” in the main entrance hall, opposite the Bathyscaph, where you will find salads, sandwiches, toasted sandwiches, ice cream, and hot and cold drinks.
The “Ruban Bleu” is only open during the high season.
